We ran out of time and patience to plan our own Alaska vacation, so reached out to APT. Mac was quick to respond with a plan that suited our pre-determined travel schedule and our desires to “keep busy” during our visit. He arranged us stops in several towns/cities, a great driver (shout out to Mike!), and amazing tours and activities. They were extremely flexible and accommodating when our plans (or weather) changed, and for all this, we are forever grateful. Alaska and APT did not disappoint.

The experience was 5 star. Brenda and I are very appreciative of all that you did to make this “bucket list” trip happen as smoothly as it did. Les, our driver was great. Although, great seems lacking to describe his attention to detail and small things he did above and beyond to make our stay amazing. His knowledge of all things Alaska was impressive and interesting to learn.
Each excursion surpassed our expectations and resulted in a long list of discussions among us on how great this was or how fun that was. The Northern lights cooperated and we got to check that off of our list as well. The temperatures even took it easy on us with a warming trend during our stay. It was cold but nothing like what I was thinking it was going to be with only a night or 2 below zero. Long term forecast I was looking into prior to the trip had me thinking we might see much lower temps.

Elise at Alaska Private Touring was absolutely wonderful! She arranged a 5 day trip for our group which had many logistics and personal schedules. We received the best of the best everywhere we went! Our agenda was right down the the minute packed with fun adventures. I would absolutely recommend Alaska Private Touring and wouldn’t think twice about using anyone else for an Alaskan adventure. Being from Alaska, I know a lot about my home state and have seen so much–or so I thought! Even for a (partially) native this was a spectacular tour.

She was able to connect us with our driver, Penick, who was wonderful! He met us every early morning to see us off on our adventures, always early to any time he had to pick us up, full of fun facts and very knowledgable about Alaska’s history. When our family first conceived of a trip to Alaska, we read several guide books and decided that we were clearly beyond our area of expertise. We needed the services of a professional tour company. Initially, I emailed several tour companies. Within hours, I received a response from APT. Some other tour companies took days to respond. One company responded two weeks later. One never responded. This was my first indication that APT was a professional organization which was sincerely interested in helping our family plan its Alaska adventure.
Rhiannon Brown consistently responded quickly to my many questions. In some cases, she displayed incredible patience with us because we sometimes took several weeks to discuss the options which she presented. She was always courteous and professional. She listened attentively and answered my many questions and offered alternatives without hesitation.
I don’t think that Rhiannon missed any detail in planning our trip—even the ‘small’ things like having two young people greet us at the Ted Stevens airport and having our transport waiting for us. She even sent us an email advising us of the clothing we should bring. We were very grateful for this. When we left Connecticut, the average temperature here was over 90ᵒ and the humidity was in excess of 70%. We would never have thought of bringing gloves, coats or boots with us to Alaska–all of which Rhiannon suggested.
All things considered, why would we choose any other touring company?
My wife and I have recently arrived home from our Alaska/Canada trip which has been one of the best trips to Alaska that we have made. We would like to thank you for putting together our itinerary which ran as smooth as clockwork, every detail from hotel shuttles to booked tours ran perfectly.
We had unbelievable weather in Denali and our flight back from Kantishna took us to mount McKinley in perfect conditions, something that rarely happens apparently. Our trip to Brooks River Lodge was another highlight, we saw the bears feeding on salmon that were trying to jump up the waterfall, to see this in real life instead of on the television was something special.

Andranel made our time so special. She kept us on schedule, always one step ahead, having already re-confirmed our events and accommodations every step of the way. She was a great guide, very knowledgeable of the area and provided great recommendations for our extra time. She was energetic the entire trip despite the many long days, and at our request, accompanied us for many meals and stops making each one all the better. I think the only thing that could have made the experience better was a longer time in Alaska!
