Discover a multi-sport luxury lodge located in the heart of the Tordrillo Range near Denali National Park on the banks of the Talachulitna River and Judd Lake. The lodge is within eye shot of two 11,000-foot volcanoes and Denali, Northern America’s tallest peak at 20,320 feet. Tordrillo Mountain Lodge is the perfect retreat for a wide range of activities – including remote activities accessible by helicopter – or perhaps even just to find a quiet corner on the deck and take it all in.
The Main Lodge at Todrillo Lodge is a blend of posh amenities and rustic Alaskan architecture. This 5,600 foot long main lodge log structure has walls of windows and three large cedar decks that overlook Judd Lake and the Alaska Range. Newly renovated in 2017, some of the features include spacious common areas on three different levels, a lakeside bar and dining room showcasing the beauty of the outside surroundings, and deluxe guest rooms with newly renovated bathrooms. Expect a cozy atmosphere for fireside chats, reading, or relaxing with a glass of wine from 500-bottle cellar. For maximum relaxation, there is a lakeside copper hot tub and sauna, professional massage services, media, music and wireless internet.
The main lodge features 6 guest rooms, all featuring a variety of layouts and bedding configurations. In addition to the 12 guests hosted in the main lodge, there are also two separate, private, handcrafted cabins next door to the main lodge. These private cabins feature two twin or one king-sized bed and full bathroom. These deluxe cabins face the scenic lake and offer a spacious front end lounge and Finnish glass fireplace. They are located conveniently near the yoga/sauna building and are just a stone’s throw from the lodge for meals and the company of lodge staff and other guests.
Also available are the Moose Hall and the Lakeside Retreats, serving as an exclusive experience and base of operations for up to 8 guests. Each of these deluxe, luxury cabins each feature two private bedrooms and a private seating and lounge area facing the lake. A separate building lies between the two guest lodges and features a private kitchen, dining, and living area, plus a private outdoor hot tub on the front deck. A private chef and bartender will tend to your every need as you enjoy the luxuries of this secluded oasis nestled in Alaska’s remote wilderness.
The Lodge is only accessible through chartered flight from Anchorage. Guests visiting in the summer are met by their staff on the morning of their departure at their Anchorage hotel and brought to Lake Hood to depart Anchorage for 45-minute flight to the lodge.
The Todrillo Mountain Lodge chef prepares and serves gourmet cuisine in an intimate setting, providing a truly Alaskan gastronomical experience. Replete with suggested optional wine pairings, all courses feature seasonal herbs and fresh vegetables from the lodge garden (seasonally), Alaskan seafood, and regional game dishes. If you happen to catch fish on one of your excursions, the lodge chef will expertly prepare your ‘catch of the day’ to your preferences. And as always, special diets are also accommodated with advance notice.
The skies are a brilliant blue, the sun ceases to set and the colors of the wild flowers and lush forest from a postcard-worthy landscape. There are an array of adventures available at the Lodge – including Alaska’s first Via Ferrata climbing course, fishing, hiking on glaciers, and whitewater rafting.
A chartered helicopter provides access to a number of other adventures, just beyond your door. Your pilot can take you to the best fishing holes in the Tordrillo Mountains, remote hiking meadows, or fat tire biking routes among Mt. Spurr volcanoes. Enjoy water sports with canoes, kayaks, paddleboards or wake boarding on Judd Lake.
Guests can return to the lodge for a daily yoga routine, or hit the fitness facility. Cycle between a dip in the lake and modern hot cedar sauna to end the day.
