Deep Creek Fishing Club on the Kenai Peninsula’s Cook Inlet, hosts some of the best halibut fishing in the world. Day 1

Overnight Anchorage

Upon arrival to the Anchorage International Airport, you will receive a personal greeting followed by a private transfer to your hotel.  Spend the evening in downtown Anchorage.  Rest, relax, explore, dine, or enjoy your hotel’s many amenities before recharging to tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 2

Anchorage to Deep Creek Fishing Club

Your private vehicle and driver will meet you after breakfast for your private transfer to the Anchorage Airport.  A brief 35-minute flight will take you to the town of Kenai on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula.  Here lodge staff will meet you and take you on a scenic drive to Deep Creek, located in the quaint village of Ninilchik.  Receive an orientation of the lodge and explore the grounds and other amenities, then enjoy a gourmet dinner with spectacular views of Mt. Iliamna, located just across Cook Inlet.

Day 3

Saltwater Fishing for Halibut, Salmon, Ling Cod and Rockfish

Begin your Kenai fishing adventure with some outstanding sport-fishing fun. Novices to experts are all welcome at Deep Creek Fishing Lodge.

Truly the halibut capital of the world, Cook Inlet saltwater attracts these fish in numbers and halibut up to 300 pounds are caught here every year. Your talented fishing guides will take you to their favorite spots for catching both halibut and salmon all season long with Giant ling cod and rockfish available in July and August. The Club’s comfortable 28-foot cabin cruisers are equipped with air ride seats and are armed with Accurate Reels and the finest terminal tackle. Each boat caters to only four guests for the optimum salt water Alaska fishing experience. Only the best equipment will do: Accurate, Calstar, Shimano, Loomis.

Day 4

Freshwater Fishing for 12 Species

Alaska has thousands of fresh water streams and creeks and at Deep Creek Fishing Club, you can fish forty of the very best. From crystal-clear creeks to glacier-fed rivers and gravel-bottomed brooks, you have the opportunity to catch twelve different species of freshwater fish including all five species of salmon, plus arctic char, dolly varden, lake trout, steelhead, northern pike, rainbow trout, and grayling (species vary seasonally.  You can choose between fly fishing or spin fishing and fishing by wade, drift or troll on the Club’s river sleds.

Day 5

Bear Viewing in Lake Clark or Katmai National Parks

If you want to take a break from fishing, helicopter and floatplane excursions to nearby Lake Clark and Katmai National Parks provide excellent opportunities for brown and black bear viewing and photography.  Your Alaska adventure can be customized to include bear viewing excursions by helicopter or float plane.

Photograph giant brown bears “up close and personal”, feeding on salmon or sedge grass or watch them gather at salmon-infested creeks to gorge on fish or wander sandy beaches, digging up clams. You’ll enjoy a mountain-top or beach front shore lunch surrounded by Alaska’s stunning beauty. And you can always ask to land on a glacier so you can bring some ice back for your evening cocktail!

Day 6

Deep Creek Fishing Club to Anchorage

You can return to Anchorage by air from the Kenai airport or you may wish to travel back to Anchorage along the scenic Seward Highway by private vehicle.  Overnight in Anchorage or continue on your next Alaska adventure.

Main Lodge

The main lodge at Deep Creek Fishing Club overlooks Cook Inlet, with ocean views and vistas of far-off volcanoes. The lodge offers a two-story stone fireplace with a comfortable seating area, dining area, a majestic deck to relax on, and a hot tub for your evening enjoyment.

Guest Cabins

Each of the six spacious oceanfront duplex cabins sleeps two people and offers panoramic seascape views, as well as a king-sized bed, fully stocked mini-fridge, private bathroom, and satellite TV for a touch of home comfort.

Deep Creek Fishing Club, located in the community of Ninilchik, lies along the Sterling Highway and enjoys convenient road connections from Anchorage or Homer.  Guests may also choose to fly in to the nearby airport in Kenai where a lodge representative will greet upon arrival and provide the 45-minute drive to the lodge.

All gourmet meals are included during your stay at Deep Creek and the lodge culinary team prides itself on its simple, yet elegant, Alaskan fare. The freshest ingredients, including locally harvested seafood, are used whenever possible.

Each morning begins with a delivery of coffee, tea, and pastries to your room. Later in the morning, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast in the main lodge to fuel you for a full day of fishing. Lunches are typically enjoyed ‘on the go’ depending on the day’s activities, while dinners are once again served in the Main Lodge.

The full continuum of freshwater and saltwater fishing available in the Kenai is world renown and Deep Creek Fishing Club provides the opportunity to experience it first hand. You may choose to spend your entire lodge stay dedicated to perfecting your technique and going for the biggest catch or tap into some of the other outstanding adventures right outside your cabin door.  The bear viewing options in nearby Lake Clark or Katmai National Park are superb and are perfect to supplement your fishing activities or provide great options for those in your party who aren’t as interested in fishing.
