Alaska is Filled with Adventure and Waiting for You to Explore!

Get ready for a non-stop Alaska winter adventure! This 6-day tour bases you in two classic Alaska towns: the ski resort town of Girdwood and the mountain town of Talkeetna. You’ll start by hitting the slopes at Alyeska Resort or riding a snowmobile out to Spencer Glacier. Then, take a helicopter flight to land on a glacier in Prince William Sound and visit the rescued animals at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. From there, you’ll head north to Talkeetna to board a ski plane and fly right up to Denali, with a chance to land on a glacier. This trip also packs in a thrilling dog sled tour, a quiet snowshoe trek, and an evening hunting for the northern lights.

Arrive in Anchorage, the gateway to Alaska adventure and a true winter wonderland! When you arrive, a private transfer will take you to your hotel in the sleepy ski town of Girdwood. As you ride, experience the grand vistas of the scenic byway, the Seward Highway.

You’ll spend the night in Girdwood, which will be your home base for the beginning of your active winter adventure.

Day 2

Local Girdwood fun, Snow Machine Tour out to Spencer Glacier, overnight in Girdwood

Today, dive into your choice of active winter pursuits and relaxation!

You can hit the slopes at Alyeska Resort for some alpine skiing, carving down the mountain with views that stretch out to the Turnagain Arm. If you’re looking for speed, take an exciting snowmobile ride, or as we Alaskans say, a snowmachine, out to Spencer Glacier, zipping across the winter landscape. After the day’s adventures, you can kick back and unwind at the resort’s Nordic Spa, soaking in the warm pools to ready yourself for the days ahead.

Day 3

Alpine Air Prince William Sound Flightseeing Tour, Visit to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, overnight in Girdwood

Your day begins with an exciting Prince William Sound Flightseeing Tour. Hop in a helicopter for a scenic flight over the breathtaking Chugach backcountry and Prince William Sound area. You’ll get incredible views of this remote landscape, and if the weather cooperates, you’ll even land on one of the many glaciers, letting you step out onto the ancient ice.

Next, you’ll travel a short distance to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. This 200-acre animal sanctuary gives you a chance to see famous Alaskan wildlife up close, as it’s home to dozens of rescued animals.

After this busy day, you’ll return to your accommodations in Girdwood for the evening.

Day 4

Journey from Girdwood to Talkeetna, Denali Flightseeing Tour, overnight in Talkeetna

Today, you’ll travel north from Girdwood on a scenic transfer to the quirky mountain town of Talkeetna, often called the gateway to Denali. Prepare for your afternoon adventure into the Alaska Range. You’ll take a spectacular Denali Flightseeing Tour, boarding a plane equipped with skis that lets you soar around the massive peaks of Denali National Park. This up-close experience brings you face-to-face with North America’s tallest mountain and the huge glaciers that flow from its slopes. Your flight may even include a glacier landing, giving you the chance to step out and walk on the ancient, frozen landscape. After your thrilling flight, you’ll enjoy the evening in Talkeetna, getting a feel for this classic Alaskan climbing town before you overnight here.

Day 5

Next, strap on snowshoes for a guided Snowshoe Trek, allowing you to explore the quiet winter trails and truly immerse yourself in the Alaskan wilderness. As night falls, get ready for an evening searching for the magic of the Aurora Borealis on a Northern Lights Tour. You’ll head to a spot with dark skies, giving you the best chance to see the colors dance across the sky. After this full day of adventure, you’ll spend the night relaxing in Talkeetna.
