Main Lodge

The main lodge building serves as the central social and meeting area. This beautiful log building is the hub of all activities, meals, and relaxation in general. Here, you can visit the Activities Desk to sign up for daily excursions, enjoy meals in the lodge dining room, taste some of Alaska’s famous brews at the saloon, or delve a bit deeper into Kantishna’s history by visiting the library.

Guest Cabins

Private guest cabins are built from Alaskan white spruce logs and feature configurations of duplex or four-plex styles, all with private bathrooms. Bedding configurations include 2 full-size or 2 queen-size beds, accommodating up to 4 guests each.

A newly-built family cabin is perfect for a family or small group of four to seven guests.  The private cabin features a king-size bed and a pair of bunk beds in a separate bedroom, plus a private bathroom.  The main entry room features a gas fireplace, comfortable seating, and a fold-out couch.

The spacious grounds allow for easy access from guest cabins to all of the property’s amenities,  while still maintaining a beautiful Alaskan wilderness setting.

The lodge is accessible from the Denali Park Entrance by lodge tour bus only.

Meals are homemade and prepared fresh each day.  Breakfast and dinner are served family style.  For lunch, guests can choose from a variety of items to pack on their excursions for the day.

Various guided walks and hiking programs are available each day.  Options will vary according to length and difficulty, so there is always something for everyone.  Kantishna is rich is gold rush history and the lodge staff can provide the materials and tutorial for you to gold pan on your own. You can also visit a local musher who will talk about this uniquely Alaskan sport and introduce you to his team of Alaskan sled dogs.

Other non-guided activities you can enjoy on your own include use of mountain bikes to explore the Denali park road or fishing rods and reels for you to try your hand at some catch-and-release fishing inside Denali National Park.

Evening programs often feature lodge staff or guest speakers to share information on topics such as photography, the aurora borealis, Denali expeditions, Kantishna’s gold rush history, or a myriad of other topics uniquely to Alaska. On clear evenings when Denali is visible, the lodge staff will provide a guided excursion to Wonder Lake for the opportunity to see majestic Denali in full color with the evening alpenglow.
