Day 1

Arrive in Anchorage, travel to Girdwood

Upon arrival at the Anchorage International Airport, meet your private driver and receive an exclusive transfer to the resort town of Girdwood. Enjoy the amenities of Alyeska Resort as you recover from your day of traveling and be sure to let the front desk know if you would like an evening aurora borealis wake-up call.

Overnight in Girdwood at Alyeska, your home for the next three nights.

Day 2

Turnagain Arm - Brewery - Alyeska Adventures

Explore the boundaries of Turnagain Arm today with your private driver/guide. Walk the Trail of Blue Ice, aptly named for the nearby hanging glaciers or try a local brew at the Girdwood Brewery.  Stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and observe Alaska wildlife in their natural habitats.

This afternoon, enjoy Alyeska’s many winter activities such as downhill, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

 

Day 3

Prince William Sound Glacier and Wildlife Cruise

Today, travel with your private driver/guide to Whittier, thru North America’s longest mountain tunnel, and board your private vessel for a day cruise into Prince William Sound. See the glaciers of Blackstone Bay along with the marine wildlife that calls this area home. Your knowledgeable captain and crew will create the perfect day out on the water.

This afternoon, return to Alyeska Resort and warm up in the large mountain facing hot-tub or the resort sauna.

Day 4

Girdwood to Winterlake Lodge

After breakfast, return to Anchorage with your private driver/guide for a charter flight to Winterlake Lodge. Upon arrival receive a lodge orientation and get cozy in your private cabin. While you are at the lodge enjoy local hospitality from your Alaskan hosts and learn about the variety of lodge-based activities while you enjoy a gourmet meal.

Overnight at Winterlake Lodge, your home for the next two nights.

Day 5

Winterlake Lodge Fun: Dogsledding, Skiing, Snowshoeing, Snowmobiling or Sledding

Situated at the base of the Alaska Range and in the remote wilderness your lodge provides an extensive menu of options to explore Alaska’s winter wonderland. Experienced guides will get you into the snow on cross country skis, snowshoes, a snowmobile, or even behind a dog team! Looking for epic sledding? Warm up with hot drinks as you race down the best sledding hills.

After your adventures join the chef in the kitchen to assist in preparing tonight’s meal or read a book in front of the fire with a glass of wine. Tonight peak out of your cabin in search of the northern lights.

Day 6

Winterlake Lodge to Anchorage and on to Tour Fairbanks

Today, return to Anchorage by private ski plane. Look for moose against the frozen river beds and watch the landscape change from rolling hills of tundra to coastal mountains as you touch down on Lake Hood. Connect to a scheduled flight to Fairbanks and embark on a private sightseeing tour of the city with your local private driver/guide including a visit to the Museum of the North.

This evening, travel just outside of town for an opportunity to view and photograph the aurora borealis from a northern lights viewing yurt.

Overnight in Fairbanks, your home for the next two nights.

Day 7

Chena Hot Springs

Relax and enjoy a leisurely morning after your evening of aurora viewing. Journey with your private driver/guide to Chena Hot Springs and take a dip in the healing pools at this natural hot springs once used by miners to soothe their aches and pains.

Ask your driver/guide this evening about concluding your Alaska visit in a ceremonious fashion, perhaps another night of aurora viewing or trying some local Alaskan cuisine.

Day 8

Depart Fairbanks

Today, say farewell to Alaska and receive a private transfer to the Fairbanks Airport for your departure flight.
