Hiking, rafting, ATV's, helicopters and MORE!

Day 1

Arrive in Anchorage; Travel to Girdwood

Meet your private driver/guide and transfer to your hotel, located along scenic Turnagain Arm in the mountainside community of Girdwood. Situated amidst dramatic mountains and glaciers, Girdwood is the perfect basecamp for a plethora of Alaskan adventures.

Overnight in Girdwood, your home for the next two days.

Day 2

Spencer Glacier Exploration

Take off  across the Chugach Mountains by private helicopter. Land at the toe of Comet Glacier and join your guides as you trek into the glacier carved Spencer Valley, offering panoramic views of Spencer Glacier.  Your hike will conclude at Spencer Lake where you will board rafts for further exploration. Paddle amongst icebergs and up to the glacier face before boarding the Alaska Railroad for a scenic passage back to Girdwood.

Day 3

Glaciers and Wildlife of Kenai Fjords National Park

This morning join your private driver/guide and journey south to Seward for a day cruise into Kenai Fjords National Park.  Upon arrival board your sightseeing vessel and cruise through Resurrection Bay as you search for marine life such as whales, sea otters, puffins, and sea lions.  Your journey on the water includes a stop at a tidewater glacier where you have an opportunity to see – and hear – the sounds of the glacier calving into the ocean below.  Enjoy lunch onboard before returning to Girdwood in the Alaska Railroad’s luxury Gold Star dome rail cars with their glass roofs for prime views of dramatic Alaskan vistas.  Dinner will be served on the train while you take in panoramic views.

Day 4

Travel from Girdwood to Talkeetna

Continue your adventure as you travel north, into Alaska’s interior, to Talkeetna.  Along the way stop and explore remote wilderness with an exciting guided ATV adventure through the forest.  In the afternoon take off and travel to a glacier via helicopter and meet a team of excited huskies for dogsledding fun.  Let your dog sled team lead the way as you glide across the glacier on your dogsled and learn about the fascinating history of Alaskan dog mushing.

Overnight in Talkeetna for two nights.

Day 5

Denali State Park Wilderness

Today, explore Alaska’s spectacular Denali State Park Wilderness on a 4-6 mile moderate-to-strenuous trek with your private, local naturalist guide. As you hike through lush forest, learn about the wildlife, plants, and wild berries that are found in the area, and (weather permitting) climb above tree line for spectacular views of the peaks and glaciers of the Alaska Range. This evening relax at your comfortable wilderness lodge with spectacular mountain views or explore the unique town of Talkeetna.

Day 6

Talkeetna to Denali National Park and Kantishna Roadhouse

Continue your travels north to the Denali Park Entrance, where you will board your lodge shuttle for a day of sightseeing through Denali National Park (6 hours).  Along the way look for bear, moose, caribou, Dall sheep, and wolves as well as spectacular scenery.

Upon arrival at Kantishna Roadhouse, a backcountry wilderness lodge located deep within the park, enjoy a brief orientation to the lodge and enjoy dinner before relaxing in your private cabin. Spend two nights in Denali National Park. All meals are included with your Denali National Park lodge stay.

Day 7

Explore Denali National Park

Your next day is filled with guided activities such as gold panning or hiking or unguided excursions like fly fishing and mountain biking.  After a day of adventure, you may wish to add a full-body massage at the lodge with the in-house massage therapist, or simply sit by the fire and make s’mores as you soak in the Denali National Park’s beauty and tranquility.

Day 8

Denali to Fairbanks

Early this morning return to the Denali Park Entrance on a scenic flight. At the park entrance, meet your private driver and guide and enjoy an invigorating 11-mile whitewater rafting adventure. The rapids are Class II, III and IV, offering an exciting introduction to rafting for beginners and thrills for the more experienced. This evening, you’ll travel to Fairbanks for one last evening in Alaska.
