On this private bear viewing tour to two of Alaska’s National Parks, you’ll visit both Denali National Park to view grizzly bears and Kodiak National Park to experience the enormity of the Kodiak brown bear. You’ll delight in learning from local naturalists all about bear behavior from hunting and feeding to mating habits. Over 98% of the brown bear population in the United States call Alaska home, drawing visitors from across the world to view these magnificent creatures.

Day 1

Arrive in Fairbanks

Upon arrival at the Fairbanks Airport meet your private driver and receive a transfer to your hotel. Your driver can offer dinner or sightseeing suggestions for your evening in Fairbanks.

Day 2

Travel from Fairbanks to Denali National Park Entrance

Join your private driver/guide and travel south to the Denali Park Entrance. This is where your Alaskan journey begins. Every moment around the parks entrance is a chance to explore the richness of Alaska’s wilderness.

As the day’s adventures unfold, relish the active energy, knowing that the evening promises a tranquil retreat. This is not just a journey; it’s a symphony of experiences harmonizing with the breathtaking beauty of Alaska’s untamed landscapes.

Day 3

Discover Denali National Park

You’ll have quite the adventurous day exploring what the park has to offer. Pump your adrenalin exploring Denali National Park with an ATV or Off-road Jeep Excursion as you drive your vehicle through the mountainous terrain of the park.

Day 4

Alaska Railroad to Anchorage

After arriving at the Alaska Railroad depot, you’ll board a luxury dome railcar on the Alaska Railroad (GoldStar service) for your scenic rail journey through Alaska’s backcountry to Anchorage. Dinner on the train is included as you take in the passing sights and possible views of wildlife (12:30H-20:00H).

Upon arrival into Anchorage that night, you will be greeted by your private driver/guide who will take you to your hotel.

Day 5

Travel from Anchorage to the Kodiak Brown Bear Center - Karluk Lake Bear Viewing

This morning receive a private transfer to the Anchorage Airport for your scheduled flight to Kodiak Island (1 hour). You will have time in downtown Kodiak to explore the area before joining your private pilot/guide and transferring to Kodiak Brown Bear Center via a 45-minute floatplane flight. Meet your lodge hosts and receive a brief orientation before setting out on your first bear viewing tour along the shores of Karluk Lake.

Overnight at the Kodiak Brown Bear Center, your home for the next three nights.

Day 6

Meet the Brown Bears of Kodiak

Your entire time on Kodiak Island is devoted to bear viewing. With an experienced naturalist guide, spend your day searching for bears by plane, helicopter or kayak. All meals are included and served family-style in the main lodge at the Kodiak Brown Bear Center.

 

Day 7

Bears, bears, and more bears

Enjoy another full day of bear viewing with your knowledgeable guides. This evening enjoy the beautiful sights from the lodge while you share stories with your fellow lodge guests around a lakefront fire pit.

Day 8

Travel from Kodiak Brown Bear Center to Anchorage

Say goodbye to your lodge hosts and fly over Kodiak Island to the city of Kodiak via floatplane. Here you will board your scheduled flight for the return to Anchorage in the evening. Meet your private driver and receive and exclusive transfer to your hotel for a final evening in Alaska. Your driver can offer suggestions for a farewell dinner with local cuisine.

Day 9

Depart Anchorage

Today, say farewell to Alaska and receive a private transfer to the Anchorage Airport for your departure flight.
